Calling for help
State the type of emergency, exact location or map pin, number of people involved, hazards, and a callback number. Ask a Thai speaker at your hotel, restaurant, or nearby business to assist if communication is difficult.
Phone numbers and service coverage can change. Confirm critical contacts after arrival and save your accommodation’s front desk number.
Prepare offline
Save your insurer’s emergency line, policy number, embassy or consulate contact, passport copy, medical information, and an emergency contact. Keep the same information somewhere separate from your phone.

Common situations
For a lost passport, contact police and your embassy or consulate. For medical care, use emergency services when urgent and contact your insurer as soon as practical. For sea incidents, alert lifeguards or boat crew immediately rather than attempting an unsafe rescue.
Make your location usable
An emergency call is more effective when you can share a road name, venue, beach access point, hotel, landmark, and live map pin. Remote beaches and boat routes may not match a familiar town name. Before an outing, note the operator, pier, vehicle, route, and expected return time and share them with someone not on the trip.
